Job Description:

Seeking an energetic and warm individual with a passion for enriching the lives of children for a full-time Preschool Teacher position at our Busy Bee Children’s Center in Waukegan, IL.

JOB SUMMARY

The Preschool Teacher will manage the classroom atmosphere by:

  • Using positive approaches to help children solve problems.
  • Leading classroom activities and planning developmentally appropriate lesson plans that stimulate children’s physical, mental, social, emotional and cognitive growth.
  • Maintaining ongoing communications with parents and families.
  • Collaborating with co-teachers on best practices and creating a warm and welcoming environment.

Job Requirements:

JOB REQUIREMENTS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Education

Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field, or Child Development Associate certification. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Experience

A minimum of 2 years professional experience working with children in a classroom setting with a Bachelor’s degree. Three years of classroom experience with an Associate’s degree.

Required Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to maintain confidential information and materials
  • Ability to stay current on developments in early learning field to enhance professional growth
  • Must be able to develop a professional and positive relationship with families and colleagues
  • Must be able to physically interact with children, involving both fine and gross motor skills, and lift up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to use positive approaches to help children solve problems
  • Ability to arrange classroom in well-defined learning centers that stimulate children’s interests and encourage independent use
  • Ability to follow all safety and health guidelines in accordance with state, federal, NAEYC and One Hope United regulations
