Job Description:

Take your career to the next level at our Wilmette Child Development Center!

As a Center Support Teacher you’ll have the opportunity to nurture the hearts and minds of children from 6 weeks to five years, instilling in them a dedication to life-long learning.  We believe children “learn by doing,” an approach that allows young minds to explore and understand the world around them.

The Wilmette Child Development Center holds deep roots in Wilmette, where it has been a source of excellence in care and education for the area’s young children for nearly 30 years.

Our experienced staff customizes each child’s curriculum based on his/her individual strength and temperament, as well as staff observations and formal assessments. This customized curriculum is designed to foster each child’s developmental growth and encourage creative expression. It’s our goal to have a Center that creates safe and nurturing learning environments for children.  We believe in a “learn by doing” approach that allows children to explore and understand the world around them.

Our families view our center as a community that offers opportunities for regular involvement as well as for special events. Parents are welcome visitors to the program and often stop by to share their talents and family cultures.  Wilmette Child Development Center also regularly partners with Wilmette Theater, the Glenview Park District and the Wilmette Public Library. For our annual Health and Fitness Day event, we sponsor a family walk and on-site fitness activities.

Wilmette, like all of our centers, uses the Teaching Strategies Creative Curriculum program and GOLD assessment tool.  In addition, we incorporate our Healthy Lifestyles Curriculum, which includes incorporating daily movement — indoors and out — discussing making healthy food choices and maintaining healthy habits such as visiting a dentist, brushing your teeth and screening hearing and vision.

The talented staff members at Wilmette Child Development Center have dedicated their careers to early childhood education and are committed to helping you to be the best Teacher-Center Support you can be.  We hope you’ll consider joining our team!
