Job Description for the Position of Teacher

The Teacher is directly supervised by and evaluated by the School Principal.

The Teacher has adult supervisory responsibility for instructional aides and assists in the evaluation of this position.

General Description of Position- In accordance with the law and district policy, the Teacher is responsible for working under the direction of the Principal to:

Implement the GESD curriculum
Effectively utilize the GESD instructional management system to monitor and improve the effectiveness of instruction.
Provide effective instruction for all students in his/her classroom.
Participate in grade level, school-wide, and other meetings.
Provide a learning atmosphere and environment conductive to the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of all students.
Communicate with students, parents, staff, and community members.
Develop, select, and modify instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students.
Monitors appropriate use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities.

Job Requirements:

Educational and Experience Requirements-. A Bachelors Degree in education, or related field, is required. Valid Arizona teacher certification is required. Attainment of NCLB highly qualified status is required. Previous teaching experience is preferred.
