The Family Support Specialist will develop and maintain relationships with families by:

• Conducting intake and enrollment.
• Creating and maintaining records.
• Partnering with families to meet the health, nutrition, mental health and educational needs of the child.

Education

Associate’s degree in Social Services, Psychology, Counseling, Child Development or a related field required. Bachelor’s degree highly preferred.

Experience

A minimum of 3 years of professional work experience with families.

Required Skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication

• Ability to maintain confidential information and materials

• Ability to stay current on developments in social services field to enhance professional growth

• Must be able to develop and maintain professional and positive relationships with families, children and colleagues

• Must be able to work as a team with program leaders and direct service staff

• Working knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards and Child Plus Database

• Have access to a reliable vehicle and meet all agency requirements related to driving record and insurance
