Job Description:

Sonia Shankman Orthogenic School of Chicago, IL is seeking to hire a full-time Special Education Teacher to play a vital role in our students’ academic success. This position offers a competitive salary of $55,000-72,000/year based on experience. Our Special Education Teachers work Monday-Friday, 8:15am-4:30pm with August off. Teach children with severe social-emotional problems by utilizing curriculum material adopted by the school as well as appropriate supplemental and teacher-made materials. Develop appropriate lesson plans that accommodate the range of learning styles and specialized needs of students in the classroom. Create a learning environment that encourages positive social interaction, active engagement, and self-motivation. Actively participate with colleagues in school improvement activities, curriculum development, teaming, and collaboration. Maintain all appropriate special education forms, Individual Education Programs (IEP's), and records mandated by regulation and district policy. Document progress on academic and social-emotional goals and objectives.

Job Requirements:

● Bachelor’s degree
● LBS1 certified
● Experience in elementary education and/or a core content area in secondary education
