EARN is a nationally recognized Network of public high-performing college prep elementary charter schools. The mission of LEARN Charter School Network is to provide children with the academic foundation and ambition to earn a college degree. LEARN is committed to serving Chicagoland’s underserved communities by providing low-income families with an excellent tuition-free elementary education in neighborhoods where such options do not exist. Over the last thirteen years, the LEARN Network has grown from one school to a thriving Network of eight schools serving nearly 3,600 elementary school children in North Lawndale, East Garfield Park, South Chicago, Auburn Gresham and North Chicago in Lake County. LEARN currently employs 380 staff members and will grow to 450 staff with an operating capital budget approaching $50M within the next year.LEARN focuses on elementary education because we believe that the ambition and academic foundation for college must be sown and cultivated early in a child’s academic career. LEARN offers the right combination of an accelerated curriculum, high expectations, and social exposure that propels our students on to college prep high schools and college. To date, 95% of LEARN alumni have graduated high school and 95% have matriculated to college, proving low-income does not mean low achievement.
Fueled by strong results and supported by sophisticated investors, LEARN has ambitious growth plans to double in size by 2020.
