Job Description:

The Assistant Director will assist the Site Director in the daily operations of the child development program within the mission, vision, philosophy and economic parameters of One Hope United, the regulations of licensing agencies and the guidelines of accrediting organizations. The Assistant Director will provide support in:

  • Enrollment and Marketing: implementing the center’s marketing strategies and enrolling children in center program.
  • Educational Program Development and Implementation: monitoring and evaluating the educational program to ensure compliance with regulatory, funding and accrediting agency requirements; and leading child transition policies and procedures.
  • Staffing and Professional Development: ensuring child to teacher ratios and supervising classroom teams through observation and feedback.
  • Financial Management: assisting with accounts receivable and payable and managing staff schedules.
  • Office Management Systems: managing daily staffing needs and delegating responsibility, as appropriate.
  • Parent Relations: assisting program staff with the continuous assessment of family needs and development of a plan for strengthened parent center relations, including center wide implementation of strengthening families.
  • Professional Leadership and Community Outreach: developing cooperative relationships with community and professional groups in the area.

Job Requirements:

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or a related field required. Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred.

Experience

A minimum of 5 years professional experience working with children in early childhood education setting with at least two years of supervisory experience.

Required Skills

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidential information and materials
  • Ability to stay current on developments in early learning field to enhance professional growth
  • Ability to physically interact with children, involving both fine and gross motor skills, and lift up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to work in a team and supervise staff
  • Ability to analyze data and interpret data to improve operational strategy
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Ability to develop and maintain a professional and positive relationship with families, colleagues and public
  • Proficiency in Word Processing software, e-mail and internet applications
  • Meet all agency requirements related to driving record and insurance
