Responsibilities:
- Develop a yearly classroom curriculum and a list of resources that help students expand their learning capabilities and inspire them to strive for academic success.
- Collaborate with a team of education professionals in Professional Learning Communities.
- Foster a creative, supportive, and nurturing learning environment for young students.
- Provide coaching, guidance, and mentorship to help students excel.
- Prepare students academically and socially for the transition from elementary to middle and from middle to high school.
- Facilitate activities and conversations that build strong relationships and mutual respect between students and their instructors.
- Keep up to date on innovative teaching techniques and how to appeal to various learning styles.
- Collaborate with colleagues and leadership to provide the best educational and personal growth opportunities possible.
- Help students learn how to be self-disciplined and respectful contributors to their classroom, family, and community.
- Recommend additional or alternative learning opportunities for children who need additional support.
- Meet with parents and keep them up to date with their children’s progress.
- Keep regular records, including school papers, grades, special projects, and report cards.
- Ensure students are properly prepared for standardize tests.
- Participate in regular training and licensing to keep knowledge and credentials up to date.
