Killeen Independent School District is located in Killeen, Texas. Killeen is located in Central Texas, approximately 60 miles northwest of Austin, Texas. Fort Cavazos, the third largest military installation in the United States, is nearby. Killeen ISD is a very progressive and diverse school district with great teaching opportunities. We have 31 elementary schools (grades PK-5), 11 middle schools (grades 6-8), 5 traditional high schools (grades 9-12), an Early College High School and a state-of-the-art Career Center. We hire over 500 teachers every year to service the educational needs of approximately 45,000 students.
