Marklund is a nonprofit organization that serves infants, children, teens and adults with severe and profound developmental disabilities and special healthcare needs.

At Marklund, everything we do begins with caring for each and every child or adult with the same care we would want for our own family members. Many of our residents and community clients are non-ambulatory and have severe cognitive deficits due to genetic disorders or complications during pregnancy and delivery. Others acquired disabilities during infancy or childhood through tragic accidents. Many have complex medical problems that require 24-hour skilled nursing care.

At Marklund Day School, we are committed to providing high-quality individualized educational and vocational programming for students, ages 3 through 21, with mild to complex disabilities, including autism.

We successfully transition students back to their home school district based upon academic, social, behavioral, and medical progress.  We believe each student should be educated in the least restrictive environment possible.  Throughout the school year, we work collaboratively with school districts and parents/guardians to ensure students make progress toward their goals.  If appropriate, we discuss transitioning students to their home school, based upon their academic, social, behavioral, functional, and medical progress.
