Job Description:

  1. Assesses needs of pupils with speech or language disorders and matches their needs with programs available through the educational system.
  2. Participates as a member of the IEP team to establish and monitor appropriate student goals and objectives.
  3. Meets with students regularly according to IEP, evaluates, and maintains records of students' progress.
  4. Communicate to faculty members on a regular basis to discuss students' strengths and weakness in class performance and social interaction with other students.
  5. Reports progress to parents and meets with them regularly.  Suggests activities the parents can do with their child to assist and supplement the student's speech therapy program. Attempts to add to their understanding of the program and answer questions or concerns they may have about it.
  6. Repeats evaluations on a regular basis to measure progress according to professional guidelines.
  7. Monitors and documents progress and adjusts interventions on a regular basis.
  8. Keeps current with professional literature and attends seminars on a regular basis to maintain and update professional skills.
 

Job Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Speech-Hearing Science or Communication Disorders from an accredited university.
2. 2 years verified experienced as a Speech-Language Technician or 150 clock hours of clinical experience.
3. State Speech Pathologist LTD License
4. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with students, faculty, and parents, so that all parties understand the program and degree of progress being made.
5. Valid Fingerprint Clearance.
