Job Description:

Academy of Advanced Learning, a public charter school in Aurora, Colorado, is currently seeking high-quality teachers for the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 school years. Successful candidates will possess a bachelors degree and teacher certification is preferred, but not required.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have Bachelor's Degree
  • Must have received both dosages of COVID-19 vaccinations plus two weeks prior to first day of work.

Job Requirements:

Job duties and essential functions listed below:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver instructional lessons and activities
  • Use the school’s unique LSAE model (Personalized Learning) with fidelity
  • Create a safe and positive educational climate in which students may learn
  • Develop Student Learning Plans and support students in accomplishing their learning objectives
  • Teach an aligned curriculum – be clear about what students need to know and how they will demonstrate what they have learned
  • Maintain a focus on student academic and performance outcomes
  • Use both direct instruction and personalized learning strategies
  • Differentiate instruction and implement Student Learning Plans in a way that maximizes time on task, student engagement, and student learning
  • Support students in the development of habits of success
  • Be creative in finding on-line resources and materials to supplement instruction and support personalized learning
  • Work with colleagues and the administration to accomplish the school’s goals as outlined in the School Action Plan
  • Expand personal leadership skills
  • Participate in professional learning communities and function well as part of a team
  • Assess student proficiency, monitor student progress, and provide grades in accordance with school procedures and regulations
  • Read and stay abreast of current topics in education
  • Utilize curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students served
  • Tutor students on an individual basis.
  • Observe and evaluate student's performance
  • Manage student behavior in the classroom by invoking approved disciplinary procedures
  • Communicate with and engage parents and families to support student learning and habits of success
  • Monitor students in the team center or school once a week from 6:30 a.m. until 7:55 a.m. or 3:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. as outlined in a duty schedule developed by the administrators.
  • Participate in a staff meeting and professional learning community once a week from 3:45 to 5:15 p.m. as directed by the leadership team.
  • Participate in ad hoc meetings called for by the administrative, leadership team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
