Job Description:

The Indiana University Bloomington School of Education offers an Online doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction, featuring two specializations: Art Education and Science Education. 

Application deadlines
is November 2, 2020 for Spring 2021 start and January 15, 2021 for Fall 2021 start.

Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction - Specialization in Art Education

Art Educators who have a master’s degree - No GRE required for students with a graduate degree from an accredited U.S. institution

Prepare for positions oriented to teaching and teacher education in higher art education; leadership in K-12 and community educational settings; or work as an independent consultant or scholar.

Advance your knowledge and skills as a K-12 arts educator or prepare to teach art education at the college or university level. This 60-hour doctorate is for established art specialists who enjoy mentoring new teachers and are looking to move into higher education. This is a rigorous degree program that provides not only course work, but also opportunities to conduct research, participate in scholarly publication, and gain teaching experiences in higher art education. It is fully available online through a mix of synchronous and asynchronous courses.

Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction - Specialization in Science Education

This Doctorate is for Science Educators who have a master’s degree and is designed to train practitioners, this 60-credit hour program offers you the opportunity to apply research-based theories to practical settings related to teacher training and young learner’s concepts of science, among other topics. You’ll also have the opportunity to deepen your knowledge in your chosen content area through advanced science coursework.
