Job Description:

SUMMARY: The Attendance & Truancy Coordinator assists instructional staff in tracking and monitoring student attendance and communicates attendance deficiencies to school staff and families so that appropriate action may be taken in a timely manner. The position performs other attendance related duties and assists with general office work as needed.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The below statements are intended to help describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position. • Tracks and logs Insight PA Cyber Charter School’s student attendance in school databases; 
• Audits school databases regularly to ensure student attendance is being logged accurately;
• Refers excessively absent students to the Family Academic Support Team (FAST), provides FAST and other school staff with attendance data when requested, and supports FAST’s efforts to improve student attendance;
• Sends out e-mails, calls, and letters, as well as auto-dialer notices to targeted student population; 
• Communicates with parents, learning coaches, and students on attendance-related issues;
• Performs other attendance duties and general office work as needed/requested.

Job Requirements:

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Associate’s degree OR
• One (1) year of similar work experience OR
• Equivalent combination of education and work experience

Certificates and Licenses: None required.


OTHER REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES: 

• Detail oriented, able to identify errors in student data and information
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Experience using a student information system and/or other type of database 
• Communicate professionally and tactfully through all communications
• Excellent customer service skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
• Ability to pass required background check
